Airport staff had an exciting morning at Hobby airport after a coyote was spotted running wild around the grounds.
Officials mounted a chase in an SUV, but this coyote fulfilled its wiley nature and proceeded to bob and weave for a full 30 minutes before it was eventually caught and picked up by animal control.
Houston Airport System spokeswoman Darian Ward said it was an eventful beginning to the day for their operations staff but added that there was no impact to service.
"The runway he was on was not active at the time," Ward said.
Hobby airport has a team of staff who routinely patrol the runways to check for wildlife and debris as part of normal safety procedures.
Local news caught it all on camera as their news helicopter is stored right on site at Hobby airport.
In a sad ending, Houston animal control says the coyote was euthanised because the animals are at high risk of carrying rabies.
