Police say the crash happened at about 12 p.m., in the northbound lanes in Oro Medonte.
A woman was struck and killed when she exited her vehicle, police say. At least four others were taken to hospital with what are not considered to be life-threatening injuries.
Heavy snow squalls were being reported in the region from Barrie up to Orillia with about 10 centimetres of snow predicted to fall.
