I was on the Washington Mall yesterday when I randomly saw a crowd gather. I got there just in time to see Anderson Cooper talk with an elder woman about the inauguration.

By the way the Mall has a crazy carnival-like atmosphere -- everyone is upbeat, friendly and hopeful. I got more hugs from random strangers yesterday than I've received in a lifetime.
