Whitney Houston Sings the Star Spangled Banner
Superbowl XXV in 1991. Top of her career. She was a truly great singer whom I shall miss badly. RIP.

What a talent. That was so effortless...set a new standard that hasn't been touched. I think Wayne Messmer's rendition from the 90-91 NHL All-Star game would be second to that but quite a few notches down.

@robd216 Bingo. No attempt to over do it or make it her "own", simply effortless and classy.
It's too bad she got swept up into coke and pills.

@robd216 Yeah but if I recall the year correctly, that anthem at the ASG was so awesome because of the crowd. The indoor setting made it especially loud.
lol I'd listen to it now if I wasn't about to go to bed.

I'll never forget it. Giants LB #55 Gary Reasons lived on my street in Houston and we were all so pumped following that performance.

So sad. My thoughts and meditations go to her family. They tried to get her off the drugs and away from Bobby, and did their best. Hopefully they can keep her daughter away from Bobby.
