3 Stooges at the Steel Pier, Atlantic City, New Jersey. July 1, 1938 (with sound effects)

This is a home movie by George Mann of the comedy dance team, Barto and Mann. George Mann and his wife Barbara Bradford also appear in the film. I added the Stooge titles and classic Stooge sound effects from their Columbia films.

  • When the three stooges did vaudville in Cleveland,Ohio they would drive up on the curb and illegally park in front of the theater entrance doors and go inside !
    LOL
    That's how they rolled

I saw still shots of them doing that taken from like the 4rth floor of the building across the street.

  • Curly was awesome, Moe was the lead but Curly carried that trio. Without Curly nobody would know these guys today.
    Awesome clip!

Curly and Moe were definitely the two best. Larry was the "straight" guy so he wasn't as big but he had his funny moments too

Agreed. The Curly Larry and Moe lineup was their best. Talent like that simply does not exist anymore. Dozens of films and not one F-bomb, imagine that!

Did you hear they're remaking the Stooges this year? I think Larry David is going to be in it...

Yes and I caught a preview of it but I'm not looking forward to it. Like every other remake it won't measure up. I think it will only serve to prevent a new generation from coming to know the real stooges. Like the Addams Family and the Munsters, all the younger folks seem to know is the crappy remakes.
I say leave the classics alone.

Me too! I hate when they remake classics. They're also remaking Goodfellas. Its only a matter of time before they go after the Godfateher or Citizen Kane or something. I hate the new Hollywood

  • Curly could've taken Skeletor, IMHO.

  • The Steel Pier is still there, though what was left of the original (a wooden pier on a steel structure) burned in 1982. In fact, walk along the east side of the current pier (yes, its east side) a little more than 500 feet from the edge of the boardwalk, and you'll be standing almost exactly where the 3 Stooges stood.

  • Nice editing. Ive been to Steel Pier back in the early 70's. It is a fantastic place. The area was pretty cool at that time. Lots of little shops, wooden boardwalks and gambling everywhere.

    • @T0M65 Yea,they were just trying to bring that show back to the pier next year but the idea got shot down. The building with the red roof in the back ground is still there to this day,it is somekind of music hall i believe. I was down there in January with a comp. room at Ceasers Casino.
