"Fox News host Bill O'Reilly falsely asserted that Notre Dame professor Don Wycliff, in a June 22 Chicago Tribune op-ed that criticized O'Reilly, wrote that "the United States government bears more responsibility ... than the terrorists" for the recent deaths of two U.S. soldiers in Iraq who were also apparently tortured.
In fact, Wycliff criticized O'Reilly in the op-ed for attacking "the press or the Democrats or the ACLU or Air America" for the soldiers' deaths rather than blaming the Bush administration officials responsible for conducting the war "for whom you have been a cheerleader"."
Lasrever: lmao@this interview. Love it.
In case you're wondering why I keep uploading O'Reilly's shows there are several reasons: 1) He and the Fox News Network are still very popular in mainstream American news media. 2) It helps provide you an analysis of right-wing media propaganda tactics (because they're so obvious about it -- you're welcome to attack MSNBC for being leftist even though they stick closer to the facts). 3) If you want to anticipate how right-wing partisans will try to debate you online just watch Fox and pay attention -- you will see them using the same terminology soon after pundits on Fox create and use them ("flip flopper"; "islamofascist"; use of the word "liberal" as pejorative; "homicide bomber"; CIA agent Valerie Plame "NOT undercover" and then she testifies "I was undercover" -- oops!). 4) Comic relief!
