Why is it that Liberals complain about illegal immigration legislation? Why is that Liberals complain about healthcare costs? How can they complain about both? There is a causal relationship here.

This is a video of Carol Plato, an executive director of Martin Memorial Medical Center in Stuart, Florida. Through her testimony before a legislature hearing, she explains what illegals immigrants are doing to her hospital and what little assistance the hospitals are getting from INS, law enforcement and the US government. What is particularly disturbing is that the hospitals contact INS and they do nothing unless a "crime has been committed." As if being in the United States illegally is not even recognized as a crime!

Nearly every hospital in the United States treats illegals immigrants - treatment of which will go unpaid. There are hundreds of hospitals and clinics in the Southern United States, within 300 miles of the Mexico border, that treat a huge percentage of these illegal aliens, even though they do not have insurance and do not pay for their own medical costs; without social security numbers or valid identification, there is no way to track or assign the costs to the patient.

With an estimated 13 MILLION illegal immigrants in the US, how many of them are getting medical treatment without paying? The costs are staggering - with the state of California ALONE incurring a $10.5 BILLION annual cost to provide healthcare to illegals.

Who pays for their treatment? Hard-working Americans do. When we need to have a broken finger splinted and it costs $1500. Or a 10-minute ambulance ride for $3,500. Or $40,000/day for intensive care treatment. Yet we can't even come up with a way to enforce our laws without Liberals whining about it. And the Liberals' only solution for healthcare is force us to buy insurance or pay fines? And we can't even locate the illegals by law (according to them)? What is this solving??? Nothing.
