Upon arriving at the busy Smith Haven Mall, I see smoke billowing on the horizon. This fire was on a street directly in back of a new Lowes that opened up where Kmart used to be. The store did not appear to be evacuated due to the wind blowing from the south, keeping the smoke away from the area. One of the worst building fires I have ever seen for sure, you could see flames reaching up high into the air at times. It appears the fire was at the end of Van Hagen street, looking at Google Earth it appears there was an old or abandoned house at that site. Hopefully no one got hurt and hopefully the house was abandoned so no one lost their home. Thanks to the volunteer firefighters for knocking out the fire within 15-20 mins there was no smoke at all. This is exclusive video you wont see anywhere else, as News 12, our local Long Island TV News station, was no where to be found.
