The "Black Widow", 105 pound Sonya Thomas downed 181 chicken wings in 12 minutes in Buffalo, NY crowning her as the World Champion Buffalo Wing Eater beating out Joey Chestnut at the ninth annual National Buffalo Wing Festival.

This year the wing festival served up more than 90 thousand pounds of chicken wings and 23 thousand pounds of frying oil. It was the largest chicken wing order for any festival ever in the United States. Visitors came from all 50 states and 36 different countries.

The highlight as always was the national eating competition that brought some of the world's biggest names in competitive eating to WNY. The competitors had twelve minutes to eat as many wings as possible and as usual, reigning chicken wing eating champ Sonya "black widow" Thomas beat crowd favorite Joey "Jaws" Chestnut to reclaim her title for the third year in a row.
Thomas ate 4.8 pounds of chicken wings, setting a new world record.
