Military Tries To Explain Texas UFO Mystery

The UFO mystery near Stephenville is apparently solved.

The U.S. military now admits those strange lights people reported as a UFO may have been one of its planes.

Just a few days ago, the military told a different story, saying none of its aircraft used the area the night of the sightings.

Dozens of witnesses spotted something hovering above Stephenville.

The U.S. military said it might have been several of their F-16s. Fort Worth's Joint Reserve Base initially said none of its planes were in the air during the sighting.

The U.S. military said they made a mistake.

"I think it's a little late and then there's a comment here about an error," said Steve Hudgeons of the Mutual UFO Network. "The military is not supposed to make errors."

Hudgeons studies UFO sightings.

He does not know what people saw in the sky but said he can identify the military's explanation.

"I think it's just standard cover-up," Hudgeons said. "That's immediately what I'm thinking, some kind of cover-up."

The witness descriptions and military explanations do not add up for Hudgeons.

"With the lights going around as quick as they said they were and moving off as fast as they said they were, I don't see this being aircraft," Hudgeons said.

If the lights in the sky were military jets, Hudgeons said he wants to see them, again.

"If this is a military exercise, I'd like to see them get out back over there in another 24 hours and repeat that exercise, so we can see them duplicate it," Hudgeons said.
