Actually quite a bit of talent there. The discordant tunes and melange of genres and styles reminds me of the energy and weirdness of Frank Zappa and the Mothers.

Mr Bungle formed in 1985. Mike Patton joined Faith No More after Chuck Mosely got booted for his heroin addiction in 1986 (IIRC)... the self-titled Mr Bungle disc was released in 1989 (Warner Bros caved, thankfully), a full year after FNM's The Real Thing.
And then there's the whole 'Travolta'/Quote/Unquote issue...
I could be wrong, but I know I'm close.

Actully had a beer with Mike Patton at a bar after the Gun n Roses and Metallica concert in Phoenix in 1990. Faith no More was the special guest in that concert great show did allot of stuff off the Angledust album. Not a big fan but that was a good Album.
