When I was a little kid we had job discussion day.
Everyone wanted to be lawyers and doctors and firemen.
I said I wanted to be a crash test dummy. Teacher looked at me and said I better rethink my career choices. SO I decided on being a second hand car salesman.
After watching this vid, I think being the car salesman would be worse.

@sungam lol My friends got a 1963 chevy biscayne. The thing came standard eith no seat belts. The thing was built like a tank. Body on frame car. Not the subframe unibody BS they have these days. Impala/bel air/biscayne had an "X" frame. I myself have a 1969 ford galaxie XL convertible. Probably made with steel from old scrapped ww2 ships.

I though that looks like your project but was afraid to say anything for fear of exposing my ignorance and losing my man card! :)
BTW, I think all the 50s cars were/are probably death traps. Steel dashboards and lap belts!

@evaunit This video covers quite a lot of history, I'm pretty sure American cars are generally quite safe these days :-)
Some of the barrier testing makes me glad a few ideas never took off though - particularly the chain link fence with steel cables about neck height.
