Moncton Fire responded to the Knights of Columbus on Halifax Street around 11:20 P.M. The fire was around the rear of the building, and when I arrived on scene some youths were coming from the side of the burning building, running into a R.C.M.P. Officer. Police blocked off Halifax Street in front of the CTV News Station as other Fire trucks arrived. The fire got into the attic and Firefighters cut holes in the roof and could see flame, while other Firefighters were inside the building attacking the fire from the ceiling. N.B. Power arrived and shut off the power to the building, and Firefighters shut off the natural gas. 1:30 A.M. and Fire Dept. is still on scene.
