The Americans have proven not to be trustworthy, and their planes about a new rocket shield in Europe may very well be the start of a new cold war, says Mikhail Gorbachev.

As the last leader of the soviet union, Gorbachev received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1990 for his crucial role in ending the cold war. Gorbachev is also the first to speak about a new world order, based on international law under the supervising of the UN. A term later to be hijacked by Bush Sr, and given an American content to fit the interests of USA. Now Gorbachev fears USA has launched a conspiracy against Russia.
"USA do not tolerate independent acting by other countries", says Gorbachev to The Daily Telegraph. He warns explicitly about the construction of a rocket shield placed in the Czech Republic and Poland. Claiming that this would take the arms race to another level.

"-War against the whole world"
Gorbachev claims that the underlying cause to this problem is that every American president needs a war. Furthermore he claims that the military industrial complex has such a grave influence on US politics, that it is in reality running the country. He refers to how defence minister Robert Gates has used the possibilities for war against China and Russia, as arguments for the raise in military funds. A threat without any reality to it, he claims.
"USA promised to not expand NATO beyond the borders of Germany after the cold war, but now half central and eastern Europe has become members. What became of the promises?" -This proves that the Americans are not trustworthy, claims Gorbachev.
"Sometimes I think USA wants to wage war against the whole world, the former presidents says during the interview.
