PICO RIVERA, Calif. ( KTLA) -- A man in Pico Rivera has been arrested for allegedly attempting run down his former girlfriend after she turned down his marriage proposal.
Francisco Hernandez, 22, is accused of trying to run over his ex-girlfriend as she walked along a sidewalk in the 9300 block of Slauson Ave. around 2:20 p.m. Thursday, sheriff's deputies said.
The victim told authorities Hernandez's car narrowly missed her, jumped a curb, drove over the sidewalk, went through bushes and into a parking lot.
The woman was not hurt.
Hernandez drove off despite the fact that the vehicle had suffered two flat tires, investigators said.
The vehicle was later found abandoned and Hernandez was located nearby.
