Five years ago Ehud Olmert, then mayor of Jerusalem, was asked to make a short video in honor of one of his dearest friend's 70th birthdays. That friend was none other than American businessman Morris Talansky, who is now a key witness in the corruption investigation against the prime minister.
It was one of Talansky's grandchildren who asked Olmert to take part in the family project, and he was more than happy to oblige.
"Morris is an unusual character. I must say of all the people that I met in the last decade this guy has left the greatest imprint on my life and on my day to day activities of all the people I met.
"What makes him such an important guy?... I think that it is first and foremost his endless charm. He never wanted anything for himself. He's not someone that would let you forget that he helped you, but he is not someone who would ever demand from you a personal benefit because of it."
