DHS Molecular Laser Scanner

Video Links -

WASHINGTON (CBSDC) - The Department of Homeland Security will soon be using a laser at airports that can detect everything about you from over 160-feet away.

Gizmodo reports a scanner that could read people at the molecular level has been invented. This laser-based scanner – which can be used 164-feet away — could read everything from a person’s adrenaline levels, to traces of gun powder on a person’s clothes, to illegal substances — and it can all be done without a physical search. It also could be used on multiple people at a time, eliminating random searches at airports.

  • Equilibrium comes to mind too :P Which was actually based on Fahrenheit 451 a sci-fi novel by Bradbury from the 50s.

  • 164 feet. Why can't they just say 50 meters? It was merely an approximation to begin with, but the conversion to a precise distance makes it seem otherwise.

Anyway, technology marches on. Our only hope to remain free is to master it ourselves and to endlessly demand and defend our liberties. We've been doing so rather poorly of late.

  • It not only detects DNA-sized particles, it also damages them. The Picosecond Synchronized Programmable Laser uses terahertz radiation, which is known to 'unzip' DNA. Of course, the Feds will come up with a slick medical study that 'proves' its safety.

  • Not only used at airports, random checkpoints, and truckstops, as mentioned, but also anywhere in the Constitution Free Zone.

    Excellent post. Thanks, and Voted.

  • DHS/TSA employees are a bunch of drebs. You also have to blame the millions of sheeple that tolerate it all in the name of "safety." Just like the Jews did absolutely nothing as they waited in line to be shoved into gas chamber and furnace.

  • I only see a warning sign on the video about radiation, but all that can be here-say according to the up-loader of the video. Personally, I don't have a problem with this system as long as I am not being shot with deadly waves of radiation. If it is going to eliminate the stupid long waiting qeues at the airport, then be my guest. If you have nothing to hide, then why not go through it. While I am not a big fan of the government either, this system is not meant to pick random people out. It is t More..

RE: "If you have nothing to hide, then why not go through it."

There are constitutional issues involved, including unreasonable searches and innocent until proven guilty.

You are what we call "sheeple." You are just like the Jews who did absolutely nothing even though they were waiting in line to be killed.
