Dairy farmers converged on berlin in a convoy of tractors yesterday. The rally gathered in front of Berlin's landmark Brandenburg Gate on June 5, 2008 during a demonstration called by the BDM dairy farmers' federation for higher milk prices. The BMD wants farmers to be paid 43 cents per litre, compared to 28-34 cents at present, to offset rising energy costs which they say are swallowing their profits.

The 10 day milk boycott ended today, 6/6/08 after gaining small concessions from wholesalers.
