Yummy mummy spared jail after she drove BMW on school run while four times over drink drive limit

A mother who downed three glasses of wine before crashing her car outside her daughter's school has been spared jail today.
Svetlana Bargery, 40, was four times over the the legal drink drive limit when she left her home to pick her up.
She drove her BMW X3 into the back of a Renault, mounted the pavement and hit railings as students were let out about 3.30pm.

Pharmacy worker Bargery told police officers she had drank three glasses of wine before leaving her house inWincanton, Somerset, to drop off a coat for her daughter as it was raining.
Bargery had a breath test level of 141mcg of alcohol. The legal limit is 35mcg.

Prosecutor Christine Hart told the South Somerset Magistrates Court Bargery had been found by police at the side of the road on June 16, sitting in the driver's seat of her car.
'The BMW had both front wheels on the pavement and the front was against some metal railings and when officersspoke to her they could smell alcohol on her breath.'


Guilty: Svetlana Bargery, pictured with her husband, leaves the South Somerset Magistrates Court after she was sentenced to a 12-month community orderMagistrate Sandra Bradshaw told Bargery today: 'It has been mentioned on several occasions this morning how high the reading of alcohol was on the date and it is clearly most fortunate that worse incidents did not happen as a consequence.
'However, we are not going to send you to prison.'
Bargery was sentenced to a 12 month community order, a 12 month supervision order and told to complete 60 hours of unpaid work.
She was disqualified from driving for 30 months but accepted a drink driving rehabilitation course which will reduce the ban by seven months if completed.
She was also ordered to pay £85 prosecution costs.


Bargery was driving a BMW X3 when the crash happenedHer lawyer Ray Peters said: 'I have to accept, as does my client does, that this is a high reading and that the consequences could have been more serious but she is genuinely remorseful.'
He added that Bargery was the sole occupant of her car and the accident caused minor damage to only two vehicles.
Bargery, who was accompanied to court by her husband, wore a blue top and white trousers to sentencing.
She did not show any emotion as her sentence was read out and refused to comment as she left court.
