While taking a stroll through a marketplace in Fengcheng, China I stumbled upon a restaurant that placed the head of a decapitated goat on a sheet of skin. Given the fact that it was placed right next to a sign (which says "goat soup"), the owner of the restaurant certainly expected this to be an incentive for people to come and eat (says my Chinese grandfather). But what's your opinion about this way to "attract" more customers? For some reason, it was the opposite for me...
By the way, there are plenty of open air slaughterhouses in those kinds of markets, and the most disturbing I'd seen yet was the live strangling of a black hound dog.

Fresh ingredients. What's not to like? Seriously, get your head out of your ass and stop thinking like a dumbshit johnny-come-lately Westerner. "Eww, icky, dead animal! I prefer my animal not dead but packaged up in plastic and styrofoam at the grocery store. I can't deal with the fact that my meat comes from actual living things! Ewww icky icky! I'm going to take a photo to show everyone how gross dead animals are! Next I'm going to take a photo of a squat toilet!"

I was in Prague a few years ago, outside a restaurant there was this chalk board advertising "Roast Piglet" with a hand drawn pic of a pig. It cracked me up! But also made me a little uncomfortable! My dad ordered it!!! & it was beautiful!

Oh my, does the meat on my plate actually comes from animals?
Westerners, I feel, are more and more alienated with their food.
In China, fish, for example, is usually served with its head intact. Not like everyone eats the head, but it keeps you conscious that the meat you're eating was a living creature once. In the west, by contrast, meat is served in such a way that it doesn't resemble an animal at all, effectively alienating people about the process by which an animal is turned into food.
