In Mason County Washington, a sheriff’s deputy said a 35-year-old man was shot and wounded with an arrow and a SWAT team has arrested his teenage daughter. Sheriff’s Detective William Adam says the man told officers that his 15-year-old daughter used a hunting bow to shoot him in the torso Wednesday evening after he grounded her and took away her cell phone.

The man who was unidentified, was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, from the rural area of Tahuya (tuh-HOO-yah). He is listed in serious condition. Adam said the man had to crawl out of a window to get to his vehicle and drive himself to a neighbor’s house to call 911 after the girl refused to let him use a phone.

The spokesman says the girl fled into woods behind her home with the bow and arrows but a SWAT team surrounded her and arrested her for investigation of first-degree assault.
