Learning the law of due regard. Ambulance crash
In short if you don't know what the law of due regard is, it allows emergency personnel to break a few traffic rules in emergencies. We are supposed to treat red lights as stop signs and well not run them without clearing the intersection.
This video shows what happens if you don't. Steve, ya should have listened to your partner.
Luckily, no one was seriously injured.

That's bullshit. The ambulance should still slow down at the intersection. Right away or not.

Still think it's ambulance drivers fault. He should slow down on red lights.

@Romans909 It was his fault. Trust me, I stick up for fellow EMS workers, but he blew through the light with out stopping to clear the intersection.

Ambulances fault. He has to approach the intersection and cross it slowly. How many green lights do any of you drive through and look both ways when you have the right of way? The ambulance passenger knew this, and yelled "Red light, Steve!" because he was alerting his driver to slow down and enter the intersection properly.

@Wreck Exactly, we're actually supposed to come to a full stop at every red light/ stop sign.

Incompetent EMT driver - they must be more careful at intersections.

They are not supposed to just blow through red lights at full speed, they are supposed to slow down and carefully go through the intersection of which they do not have the right away.

They cited the lady in the other car? The driver of the ambulance should've been cited, and then the lady in the car should've sued Escambia county.
Fucking backwood hicktown mentality.

Good. Why would these people be above the law? Why should the ambulance drivers put the public at risk with the type of driving?

@Vap0rHead The point being... We are not above the law, we know this... I posted this because I found it to be one fucked up case.
If people like you and the funky could understand/imagine the rules and laws governing our professions, I'm positive we would see a lot less ignorant comments like yours and Funkys.
PS, EMS is mostly privatized, we don't earn money off your tax dollar. Another common misconception people have.

Love how they tried to put a spin on this story to imply the driver of the sedan was somehow at fault here.

I don't know their local laws there but in Germany, it would be the ambulance driver's fault.

Momus since you have blocked for what ever reason I'm unable to reply.
I agree with you, the driver was at fault. Other than that, grow up and stop blocking people.

I blocked you because you engaged in serial down-voting of many of my comments without ever having the courage to respond. Not surprised it even took you this long to figure it out.
So grow up and respond instead of just talking with your mouse, and maybe I'll unblock you.

@WingSP117 I've found that almost without exception, people block when they've been proven wrong about something. It's kind of like the old, "If I can't bat first I'm taking my ball and going home" deal.

@Ithinkthat1 yeah, he blocked me for disagreeing with his views. Truth be told I don't care if he unblocks me. Well atleast he admitted he blocks for childish reasons.

I blocked him because he subscribed to my channel, and then started thumbing everything down.
So tell me who's the childish one here. BTW, I blocked him long ago, and he just now figured it out. Shows you how "engaging" he is. I've never been proven wrong about anything, but give it your best shot. BTW, you aren't doing wing any favors.

Childish reasons? I blocked you for subscribing to my channel and then engaging in a serial thumb-down campaign. That's childish, especially since it took you this long to figure it out.
You aren't making a case that you deserve to be heard.

Failure to yield on a green light in an intersection with no perpendicular sight line until you are almost in the intersection?. What a crock of shit.
