Saw this in real life on Okinawa back in the 80s.
Fell asleep drunk on the beach (not unusual) with my crew.
Was awoken in the middle of the night by what I thought was usual beach crabs trying to gnaw on my shoulder. Nope. The beach was FILLED with these critters.
Needless to say, my whole crew woke to drunkenly help these critters make it to the sea. I was a night to remember, even though its still a bit foggy.
For those that care, it was up north near Hedo.
