Toledo police release shootout video to identify gunmen
Oct 09, 2009 6:21 PM EDT TOLEDO, Ohio (WTOL) - Toledo police released surveillance video to identify gunmen captured on camera at Route 66 Bar in the 400 block of N. Westwood in west Toledo.

The shootout, involving multiple gunmen, took place Thursday, Oct. 8 around 11:30 p.m. Police say it is amazing no one was hit since 17 shots were fired in about one minute.

It started, police say, when a patron was asked to leave because a bar employee said he was trying to sell marijuana. Security was called to escort the patron out of the bar, but a fight ensued instead. Police say friends of that patron began firing toward the floor. An employee behind the bar retrieved a gun and also began shooting.

It is the patron who was being escorted out of the bar that police are trying to identify. They are also trying to identify his friends, fearing retaliation toward employees at the bar.

Police ask anyone with information that can assist in the identity of the shooters to call Crime Stopper at (419) 255-1111.
