Small Plane Crashes in Colorado Springs CO

I witnessed a plane crash this morning and took a few pictures (attached).

The pilot is 87 years old. Suffered some injuries to his head and a broken arm. He was flying a PT-19A.

I was standing about 200 yards from the runway behind some hangars. We saw the a/c start to take off, but never gain any altitude. It then descended below the hangars off the north end of the runway. We figured that wasn't good, and jumped in our truck and raced to the scene. There were already about 10 folks there at the plane. Wasn't much I could do, so I took a few pictures.
