Blood Money… Abbas to Pay Released Terrorists’ Pensions With US Aid Money (via UN)
Posted by Jim Hoft on Monday, October 24, 2011, 4:59 PM
"Next Monday, the U.N. Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) is expected to vote to accept Palestine as a full member. Under legislation passed by Congress 15 years ago, this will trigger an automatic cutoff of U.S. funding, wreaking havoc with many of the agency’s programs.
The United States funds around 22 percent of the UNESCO budget – around $70 million a year. So far, the Palestinians have refused to step back. They hope to have holy sites, like the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem, the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron, Joseph’s tomb in Nablus and Rachel’s tomb in Bethlehem, declared as wholly Palestinian heritage sites. It is all part of their campaign to erase the historical Jewish bond to the Land of Israel.
Let's remember that the Cave of Machpelah in Hebron, according to the Book of Genesis Chapter 23, was bought by Abraham as a burial place for his wife, Sarah. It is the burial place of Abraham and Sarah, Isaac and Rebecca and Jacob and Leah. Centuries later, Muslims built a mosque on the site.
UNESCO could be just the start of a process. The Palestinians will almost certainly go from agency to agency seeking membership – the World Health Organization, the International Labor Organization, the International Criminal Court and even the International Atomic Energy Agency. This last truly represents the nightmare scenario for Washington which could conceivably find itself effectively forced to pull out of the very agency that is taking the lead in monitoring Iran’s illegal nuclear weapons program.
Already there was a vote on the issue at the executive committee level where the vote was 40-4 against America and Israel. Many of the countries that voted against the United States, including 12 of the 13 African nations on the committee, get sizable foreign aid from the U.S. taxpayer. "
re: UN arms trade treaty
they warned, & warned, & warned....the Left called them delusional, paranoid, psychotic, overblowing hype, etc....well, here it is:

U.S. Rep to U.N. Says Obama Wants Senate to Ratify (UN gun control ) Arms Treaty
The Obama administration "is seeking advice and consent" for Senate ratification of an international small arms treaty, and also supports the inclusion of small arms in the UN Register of Conventional Arms, the Citizens Committee for the Right to
Keep and Bear Arms learned today.
The disclosure is found in the text of a statement to the First Committee of the 66th session of the UN General Assembly, delivered by Laura E. Kennedy, the permanent United States representative to the Conference on Disarmament. CCRKBA
obtained a copy of the statement.
In her statement, Kennedy recalls that the United States in 1997, under the Clinton administration, signed the Inter-American Convention Against the Illicit Manufacturing of and Trafficking in Firearms, Ammunition, Explosives and Other Related
Materials. However, the Senate never ratified the document, and there was no interest in pushing the treaty during the Bush administration. American firearms rights activists have steadfastly fought against inclusion of small arms in any such treaty.
"More than half the members of the Senate have already advised Barack Obama that they will not ratify any treaty that threatens the Second Amendment rights of American citizens," noted CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb, "so it's not clear why he
is – according to Kennedy's revealing statement – suddenly seeking Senate ratification of this measure.
"If the Obama administration is this eager to push adoption of a treaty that's been gathering dust for eleven years," he added, "one can only imagine how fast this president will want to see action on the proposed global Arms Trade Treaty.
"This suggests that Obama fears he may be a one-term president," Gottlieb stated, "and he feels a compelling need to finally bring his anti-gun agenda to the surface and push it through. We have known all along about his desire to bind this country to
an international gun control scheme, and now Kennedy's statement confirms that."
With more than 650,000 members and supporters nationwide, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (www.ccrkba.org) is one of the nation's premier gun rights organizations. As a non-profit organization, the Citizens
Committee is dedicated to preserving firearms freedoms through active lobbying of elected officials and facilitating grass-roots organization of gun rights activists in local communities throughout the United States.
Global gun control law pushed by Clinton
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is pushing for the United States to become a party to a global gun control law proposed by the United Nations. And President Barack Obama appears to be sympathetic to such an international power-grab and he's
already displayed a propensity for bypassing the legislative process.
In fact, many believe the recent "Operation Fast and Furious" scandal had more to do with gaining support for gun control and gun ownership bans than it had to do with crimefighting and drug cartels.
"The Obama Administration will take its first major step in a plan to ban all firearms in the United States. The Obama White House intends to force gun control and a complete ban on all weapons for US citizens through the signing of international
treaties with foreign nations," according to journalist Joan Sharon.
The goal of the treaty is to come up with internationally recognized rules governing the trade of guns and ammo. The United States is the world's largest exporter of arms.
To sooth concerns, the administration has said that it would sign the accord only if all other states agreed to it first, but pro-gun groups view the international treaty as a first step toward home-grown gun control.
U.S. lawmakers and groups like the National Rifle Association argue that it would essentially gut the Second Amendment by allowing an international authority to control American gun ownership.
A final version of the treaty is expected to be finished next year.
By signing international treaties on gun control, the Obama administration can use the U.S. State Department to bypass the normal legislative process in Congress. Once the U.S. government signs these international treaties, all US citizens will be
subject to those gun laws created by foreign governments.
These are laws that have been developed and promoted by organizations such as the United Nations and individuals such as radical billionaire George Soros and New York City's Mayor Michael Bloomberg.
"The laws are designed and intended to lead to the complete ban and confiscation of all firearms," according to Sharon.
"The Obama administration is attempting to use tactics and methods of gun control that will inflict major damage to our 2nd Amendment before US citizens even understand what has happened," she added.
Critics believe Obama will appear before the public and tell them that he does not intend to pursue any legislation in the United States that will lead to new gun control laws, while cloaked in secrecy, his Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, is
committing the US to international treaties and foreign gun control laws.
"We will wake up one morning and find that the United States has signed a treaty that prohibits firearm and ammunition manufacturers from selling to the public. We will wake up another morning and find that the US has signed a treaty that prohibits
any transfer of firearm ownership. And then, we will wake up yet another morning and find that the US has signed a treaty that requires US citizens to deliver any firearm they own to the local government collection and destruction center or face
imprisonment," Ms. Sharon stated.
If Reelected, Obama will Destroy 2nd Amendment
obama BLM attacks target shooters:
According to FOX News: "The proposals from the Bureau of Land Management potentially would outlaw target shooting in swaths of public land in Arizona and Colorado as part of a broader conservation planning effort."
"Federal officials said shooters are, under the proposals, being herded to different areas because of safety concerns and because - at least in Arizona - they've been leaving trash in public parks and damaging the environment with their bullets."
Can you imagine an administration making ILLEGAL target shooting nationwide because of a small area being infiltrated with trash?! But they do not stop illegals from leaving garbage at the same parks.
Ed Roberts of the Arizona State Rifle and Pistol Association declared: "I can't see a shooter bringing in a washing machine or a computer or bags of trash just to use as a target. Besides, there are existing laws that could be enforced to prevent more
garbage in the monument."
His group would also expressed concern that the plan would close land to off-road vehicles.
The most sweeping proposals are in southern Arizona, where the bureau has proposed closing nearly 490,000 acres in the Sonoran Desert National Monument to shooting. The agency has offered several different proposals, including the option of
making no changes, but the manager of the land said the preferred option would shut out shooters from the monument.
The National Rifle Association (NRA), which estimated more than 60 target sites are currently used by target shooters in the monument, said the plan is "unacceptable."
U.S. Representative Heath Shuler, joined by Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-CA) and 41 other original cosponsors, introduced bipartisan legislation that would help states construct and maintain safe public shooting ranges. H.R. 3065, the Target Practice
and Marksmanship Training Support Act, would allow states flexibility to allocate a greater proportion of their federal wildlife funds to create accessible recreational shooting facilities.
Romney Record Wikipedia:
Romney has said "I support the right of individuals to keep and bear arms as guaranteed under the U.S. Constitution," though in past campaigns he has described himself as a proponent of gun control, and he fully supports a ban on assault
For Romney's 1994 US Senate campaign, he supported the Brady Bill, which imposed a five-day waiting period on gun sales, and a ban on particular semi-automatic rifles. In a 2002 debate during Romney's campaign for governor of
Massachusetts, Romney said: "We do have tough gun laws in Massachusetts; I support them. I won't chip away at them; I believe they protect us and provide for our safety." As governor, Romney signed a 2004 measure instituting a permanent
Massachusetts ban on military style assault weapons, to take the place of a Federal ban, which was then about to expire. The bill made Massachusetts the first state to enact its own such ban on specific semi-automatic weapons and some shotguns
with specific accessories, and Romney supported the law with the comment: "These guns are not made for recreation or self-defense. They are instruments of destruction with the sole purpose of hunting down and killing people." As Governor
Romney extended the term of firearm licenses from four to six years, reinstated a 90-day grace period for citizens renewing their gun licenses, and signed a law providing free replacement licenses.
When he supported the Brady Bill in 1994, Romney said, "That's not going to make me the hero of the NRA. I don't line up with the NRA." Just before declaring his candidacy for the 2008 Republican nomination for president, Romney joined
the National Rifle Association (NRA). In 2005, Romney declared the 31st anniversary of the Gun Owners' Action League "Right to Bear Arms Day"
Romney made several statements in his 2008 campaign regarding his proficiency with and support for firearms:
"I've hunted a number of times, of various types of small rodents."
"Shooting rabbits single shot 22 is pretty hard."
"I have a gun of my own. I go hunting myself. I'm a member of the NRA and believe firmly in the right to bear arms. In our state... there are a series of laws restricting gun ownership in various ways. Over the past four years, I've worked very
closely with the Gun Owners' Action League here, which is an affiliate of the NRA, and we've made some changes which I think they feel have been positive steps. And so you are going to see that, I think, hopefully, in other states as well, as they
make progress, perhaps further than Massachusetts has."
"So I'm a hunter and believe in Second Amendment rights, but I also believe that assault weapons are not needed in the public population."
Romney later clarified that he did not 'own' a gun and said that one of his sons keeps two guns at the family vacation home in Utah.
The Associated Press reported in April 2007 that Romney never sought a hunting license in any of the four states where he has resided. Romney replied by saying that he mainly hunts small game in Utah, which does not require a license.
"Robert Zubrin recently penned a compelling column about how we can get back to $2 a gallon gasoline.
This has enormous implications—for our wallets, our economy, and our national security.
It’s why the Open Fuel Standard Act is one of our high priority pieces of legislation in Congress. Because, as Zubrin notes so well, there currently is NOT a truly free, competitive market for oil.
We believe in pursuing EVERY option, from “drill baby drill” to alternative fuels such as methanol, in order to break the back of the OPEC cartel. Small wonder the Saudis are vigorously opposed to the Open Fuel Standard Act.
Break the OPEC cartel, and we’ll have a free market in transportation energy. A truly free market will reduce the cost of energy, drastically reduce our dependence on foreign oil, and cut funding for terrorism and stealth jihad. Great for us. Bad for
Saudi Arabia, Iran, Venezuela… "
NATIONAL REVIEW ONLINE
Achieving $2 Gas
It’s possible, with the right policy.
highlights (only) in quotes below:
"Since 1973, this cartel, which controls 80 percent of the earth’s commercially viable oil reserves, has refused to expand production, thus keeping petroleum prices artificially high."
"This act would effectively destroy OPEC by requiring that all new cars sold in the USA be fully flex fuel, able to run equally well on gasoline, ethanol, and — most important — methanol. This latter capability is critical because methanol can be, and
is, made cheaply in large quantities from coal, natural gas, or any kind of biomass without exception."
"This underscores the key issue. There is not a free market in oil. Adjusted for inflation, the price of oil has increased eightfold since 1973, but OPEC production has not increased at all. In a free market, such a price increase would spur increased
investment, with subsequent expanded production driving the price right back down again. That is why the inflation-adjusted price of coal, and nearly every other industrial commodity, has not risen in four decades. But because of the cartel, oil
production has not responded to price increases in the way that it should in a properly functioning capitalist economy. In order for the free-enterprise system to do its work and deliver the cheap fuel the world needs, the ability of this cartel to limit the
world’s liquid-fuel supplies needs to be broken. The Open Fuel Standard bill would accomplish that."

Senate Bans Further DOJ Gunwalking Operations
Responding to the fierce controversy and surprising developments surrounding the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives' (ATF) botched Operation Fast and Furious gun-walking program, the United States Senate voted
unanimously on Tuesday to block the Justice Department from taking part in any further gun-smuggling probes like that which characterized Operation Fast and Furious.
The provision was part of a $128 billion spending Senate bill that funds the Justice Department’s various operations, as well as those of a number of other Cabinet agencies for the 2012 budget year, in which we are already underway...
Administration shill Weiner attempts to pull a fast (and furious) one
"Bob Weiner, has called on current Committee Chairman Darryl Issa (R-CA) to subpoena ex-Attorneys General John Ashcroft and Alberto Gonzales for the first guns-to-Mexican cartels fiasco if he is calling current Attorney General Eric Holder.
Robert Weiner, who was the committee’s spokesman under Chairman John Conyers (D-MI) for five years before becoming spokesman for the White House Drug Policy Office, called for a “rise over politics” since it was right after Ashcroft and
directly under Gonzales’ tenure that the first failed Mexican gun-walking operation occurred in 2006-2007, “Operation Wide Receiver,” out of the same Phoenix division of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms that the later operation,
“Fast and Furious,” took place."
It had nothing to do with Bush or even DOJ at that point.
Then there’s this bit of Smiling Bob “enhancement”:
Weiner conceded, “Giving guns to Mexican criminals was a stupid plan by ATF -- the batteries didn’t even work so what are you tracking?
DODSON: I can tell you that, after a trip to Radio Shack with ATF funds, I myself manufactured a GPS tracking device that would fit inside the handle of an A.K.-variant rifle. The problem with it was the limited battery life. There was also
attempts made through our tech departments and other tech departments to have GPS systems, a GPS system wired into one A.K.-variant rifle.
LANKFORD: And how was that received by supervisors?
DODSON: Well, actually, the one that went through our tech section was initiated by them after my attempt to manufacture one didn't work out so well. The one that we got from our tech side did actually work, and although it achieved its
purpose, the last time I believe anyone knew its whereabouts was about 50 miles south of the U.S.-Mexican border.

In the following secret conversation made public between an ATF agent and a local gun store proprietor who was cooperating with the agency in its Fast and Furious operation, it is clear that something afoul occurred regarding the 3rd gun:
Agent: Well there was two.
Dealer: There's three weapons.
Agent: There's three weapons.
Dealer: I know that.
Agent: And yes, there's serial numbers for all three.
Dealer: That's correct.
Agent: Two of them came from this store.
Dealer: I understand that.
Agent: There's an SKS that I don't think came from.... Dallas or Texas or something like that.
Dealer: I know. talking about the AK's
Agent: The two AK's came from this store.
Dealer: I know that.
Dealer: I did the Goddamned trace
Agent: Third weapon is the SKS has nothing to do with it.
Dealer: That didn't come from me.
Agent: No and there is that's my knowledge. and I spoke to someone who would know those are the only ones they have. So this is the agent who's working the case, all I can go by is what she told me.
That conversation is between ATF Phoenix field division case agent Hope MacAllister and the owner of the Lone Wolf Trading Company in Glendale, Arizona, Andre Howard. These secret recordings were recovered and reported by CBS News.

RomneyCare's illegal alien problem
Posted by Staff
When you are the favorite of the elites and the establishment, this is the kind of story that is cringe worthy, especially with a heated GOP electorate.
The Massachusetts program, which cost more than $400 million last year, paid for 1.1 million hospital and clinic visits. It's unclear how many undocumented patients benefited because the state does not record that data.
The Romney campaign referred questions to Tim Murphy, who served as Romney's state health and human services secretary. Murphy said the governor never intended the Health Safety Net to serve undocumented immigrants.
"Our view when we signed the law was that all benefits would be for people in the commonwealth who were here legally," Murphy said, noting that the regulations implementing the program were written after Romney left office in 2007.
But Massachusetts officials involved in crafting the healthcare law said there was broad understanding when Romney signed it that at least some people who would benefit would be in the country illegally.
That's supported by language in the law. Although it explicitly bars undocumented immigrants from getting certain health benefits, it does not prohibit them from receiving aid through the Health Safety Net.
Romney’s camp is now saying that it is Governor Deval Patrick’s (the current Massachusetts governor) fault that illegals are gaining access to health care, but it was never written into the law in the first place that illegal immigrants would not be
eligible for aid through the Health Safety Net.
For a candidate looking to bring the conservative base to his side, this story cannot be a welcomed development.
State Government In Australia Seeks To Issue $12k Fines If You Insult Its Gaming Minister Michael O'Brien
from the please-don't-be-insulted-by-this-article dept
Pickle Monger alerts us to an effort in Victoria, Australia, by the current government to pass a law that could lead to fines up to $11,945 if you dare to insult gaming minister Michael O'Brien. The law claims that it is "reasonably necessary to respect
the rights and reputation of the minister and authorised persons" which includes a ban on any attempt to "assault, obstruct, hinder, threaten, abuse, insult or intimidate" gaming minister Michael O'Brien. His political opponents are using the opportunity
(before the bill passes, only, of course!) to mock O'Brien and the bill. But, his office is actually trying to defend the bill:
Asked why the new "offence" law was necessary and what its intention was, a spokeswoman for Mr O'Brien, Emily Broadbent, tried to deflect attention away from the minister, despite his title being clearly attached to the legislation.
"This provision protects officers of the gambling regulator from bullying or intimidation when exercising powers at the direction of the Minister for Gaming," she said.
"The minister can look after himself, but does not believe that those working on his behalf should have to put up with harassment."

Illinios not paying bills…
As of early last month, the state owed on 166,000 unpaid bills worth a breathtaking $5 billion, with nearly half of that amount more than a month overdue and hundreds of bills dating back to 2010, according to an Associated Press analysis of state
documents. The true backlog is even higher because some bills have not yet been approved for payment and officially added to the tally.
While other states with budget problems have delayed paying their bills, the backlog in Illinois is unmatched, experts say. Year after year, Illinois builds its budget on the assumption that it will pay its bills months late — essentially borrowing money
from businesses and nonprofits that have little choice but to suffer the financial hardship.
