Apartment Building Fire Fully Engulfed Moncton

Many vehicles from Moncton Fire Department responded to a apartment building fire at 336 McLaughlin Drive around 5 P.M. When Firefighters arrived on scene thick black smoke was coming from the roof and a lot of flame. 3 Ambulances and many Members of Codiac R.C.M.P. were on scene and had to completely block off McLaughlin Drive and traffic was being rerouted through side streets, with Police at every corner. Ladder trucks shooting huge amounts of water onto the roof area of the structure. Part of the roof fell off the building as Firefighters were fighting the fire. Red cross was notified and arrived on scene around 6:30 P.M. Took Firefighters almost a hour to get the fire under control. It is not know at this time if everyone got out of the apartment building ok. There are still a lot of Firefighters on the scene of this fire as hot spots keep flaring up, you could see the smoke from uptown and the fire is in Sunny Brae area of Moncton.
