Another Rat jumps from the USS Obama


Back in April, Gloria Estefan ruffled some feathers in the Cuban-American community when she hosted a fundraiser at her house for Barack Obama in April 2010. Some conservatives were upset that the Estefans would make such a partisan move after the conservatives had supported the couple during an anti-Cuban-government march the month before. Well, those supporters might change their tune once they hear the audio from Estefan‘s appearance on Howard Stern’s program on Wednesday, where she expressed interest in GOP candidate Herman Cain.
Estefan told Stern that even though she hosted the $30,400-a-couple event for Obama, she “didn’t give any money” and didn’t even know the people who were there. She went on to say that she thinks Obama is “doing a good job” as president but that she is “kind of liking a lot of the message that Cain is talking about.” It’s a message she called “common sense.”
Estefan’s remarks may not be surprising if you believe what she says about not making up her mind about voting until the election actually comes around. According to the Miami Herald, the Estefans have always claimed to be “nonpartisan.”
Swinging from Obama to Cain would definitely prove that.
