      Easy, now...

Most here think it's far more reasonable to believe everything just popped into place out of nothing, for no reason, with no cause, than it is to entertain for one second that it might have been created.

    • @cleetusawreetus Well they don't think it happened for no reason, They think some invisible friend snapped his fingers and we just were. lol

    • @tacohell We don't know yet. We'll figure it out someday though. Better to say we don't know then to say an invisible man in the sky did it and not be able to PROVE it. NEVER be afraid to say 'I don't know'. It's O.K.!

    • @Tommyr Thank you. That is the point. We don't know.

Not so much 'snapped his fingers'--which would have no scientifically observable correlation--but more 'let there be light', which of course, fits perfectly with our scientific theory of the big bang.

  • There's always a watch maker. Take the most complex of watches apart and throw all the pieces into a box. Do you really think shaking the box and infinite amount of time will eventually cause the watch to put itself together again?? Each and every moving piece and screw?? There is intelligent design to the universe and everything else around us.

    • @rick3825 Wow.. the watchmaker's argument. Why don't you google it and read how dumb your argument actually is.

    • @rick3825 who made the watchmaker?

      Posted Sep-11-2012 By

    • @rick3825 you sir are a fucking idiot. to compare an inanimate object to something living, is beyond ignorant. it's down right idiotic.
living things are made of chemicals that react with one another, and are even able to make copies of them selfs when they become a more complex chemical chain. when a copy isn't exact and has an error that either causes that chain of chemicals to die out or do better than other chemical chains, thats evolution. a watch/car/airplane/house is made of large compoun More..

    • @rick3825 If you shake the box an INFINITE number or times yes it will land in formation. Obviously parts that require a force to press together that is larger than what the shaking force can provide will not come together. If you shake letters of the alphabet for an infinite number of times they will come together in the same text word for word of any book.

    • @bigPP69 ...he was "given" one of the finest minds on Earth and he has survived far longer than most ALS sufferers - so does that mean there is a God protecting him or that the public health system in England is really good. That is the kind of question that would make a Republic'nt hillbilly's head explode.

    • @Nepean109

You have stated nothing that would make anyone's head explode.

Who gave him that mind? Who gave humans the capacity to conceive and operate a public health system that would keep such a man alive?

None of that would explode the head of even a 'Republic'nt hillbilly'--whatever the fuck that is.

    • @cleetusawreetus and apparently this "who" also gave us this awesome ability to reason. so why is faith (the casting away of reason), revered as a good thing?

  • I cannot claim there is or isn't. I only know what I believe, which is I don't know.

    • @joe prole We don't _know_ anything really. But science paints the most probable view on reality. And fairies, ghosts, God, the bible etc. doesn't fit there. I recommend the 2 part television series "The root of all evil" to eeeeeeeeeeeverybody. (the book "the God delusion" is also great).
But I respect agnostics and maybe... some religious folks.
