Tampa Police are searching for four men who attempted to rob a Tampa
jewelry store while dressed as fake police officers Friday morning.
Police say the owner of Marcelo's Jewelry on West Columbus Drive,
opened the door to the men he said were wearing what looked like police
gear with the word "police" on their shirts. He also told police he saw
flashing lights on the dash of their car on his surveillance camera.
Once Suarez let the men inside, he could tell they were not police
and there was an exchange of gunfire. Suarez was not injured, but it is
not known if either of the suspects were hit.
Suarez told police the four men, believed to be Hispanic, took off in a green or blue Saturn.
