    • Yes, it is sad we can't take care of our veterans, who have taken care of us.

      Pathetic.

I would scrap the entire VA hospital system, & start a VA heath Insurance program. They would get cards they could use at any participating doctor or hospital.

Check out my avatar comp this weekend HK.
Your girl will be in it.

      Peace brother.

  • Here's a good place to start as far as a mindset.
Prov. 22:9 Happy is the generous man, the one who feeds the poor.

Mark 12:31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

  • Papa,

Nice track and good job shinning a light on this monstrosity of a problem we have in what remains of our once great nation. I think it is worth noting as well that 25% of the homeless are Veterans. Tent cities, kids living on the street, it's downright shameful. I don't know how to fix the problem in our current situation, but I do know what would help. The mass realization that we are ALL in this together, and the only way out is together.

  • I feel sorry for them too but, Eqjergji is right in a way! Alot of homeless have mental problems that keep them there. I know not all but, most! Some are there not by choice but, because of things they can not control.
It is a great post, Papa, no matter why they are there! Voted, Papa for president!

  • I never planned on bringing this up here, but I was homeless for over 20 years, (for various reasons which I will not go into here) and in that time, I came to a pretty good understanding of the problem of homelessness. Simply put, the social service system cannot (and should not) provide what is necessary for the "chronic" homeless to break that cycle. Back in 2001, while I was still homeless, I became involved with a group of other homeless people who decided to start finding their o More..

    • Great idea Dave.

      I'm gonna check that out.
      Thanks for posting the link.

I'm so glad you're no longer homeless.

Home sweet home really is sweet. Isn't it?

      Peace brother.

    • One of my many "in between jobs" was running public housing in a small southern town. I have seen some very sad things. Living in LA and seeing skid row was unsettling, too. Cleveland, of course, has its own homeless community.
I know there has to be something better. And I realize that there are some that choose to be there, as well. But for the sake of the children, there has to be something better.
The community dogdave posted about sounds like an incredible effort. I like the name More..

    • Great idea, using the FEMA trailers.

Yes, Dignity Village sounds like something we could implement nationwide.

I will, if I get the chance.

      Thank you Product. xoxo
