MUMBAI: Jail authorities have complained to the special court trying Pakistani gunman Ajmal Kasab that he has refused to eat jail food. He threw
away the utensils in his cell on one occasion, saying that he wanted ''mutton biryani''.
Judge M L Tahaliyani reprimanded Kasab on Thursday for his behaviour and warned him of stringent action if he repeated it. Jail officials said Kasab had thrown a similar tantrum earlier as well.
Kasab refused food and banged utensils against the wall on Wednesday. Kasab admitted as much. He replied, ''Yes, sir'', when judge Tahaliyani asked him whether he had behaved rudely with the jail staff.
Kasab is being given the same food that other inmates
at Arthur Road jail get; it is a completely vegetarian diet.
Kasab, the lone surviving member of a group of 10 terrorists who attacked Mumbai on November 26, 2008, and killed 166 people, is in custody in a special cell at Arthur Road jail. He is guarded by men from Indo-Tibetan Border Police.
