War against Afghan Mujahideen guerrilla movement and foreign "Arab–Afghan" volunteers. The mujahideen received unofficial military and/or financial support from a variety of countries including the United States, Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, Pakistan, Israel, Indonesia and China. The Afghan government, with the Soviet Union as its ally, received different aid from the government of India under Indira Gandhi.

The Democratic Republic of Afghanistan was formed after the Saur Revolution on April 27, 1978. The government was one with a pro-poor, pro-farmer and socialistic agenda. It had close relations with the Soviet Union.
On December 5, 1978, a friendship treaty was signed with the Soviet
Union and the United States. On July 3, 1979, United States President Jimmy Carter signed the first directive for secret aid to the opponents of the pro-Soviet regime in Kabul.[21] The aim of the U.S. was to drag the Soviet Union into the "Afghan trap" as U.S. National Security Advisor Zbigniew Brzezinski termed it.[

  • If we compare the conditions of war between the USSR on that time and the USA today, we can see how ridiculous and pathetic is the USA to deal with wars.

On that time the USSR with a small number of soldiers faced a biggest enemy in size that received massive support from lots of nations.... The USSR army was using 80s tecnology against a enemy using modern 80s weapons too with logistical support from many nations.

Today the USA with dozen of other allies and a large army is facing a small enemy (compared to the size of the mujahedin from that time), that dont have support from noone.
The USA army is using the most advanced tecnology against a Taliban that have weapons with tecnologys from the 50s or 40s maybe.

    Incredible

    • @gastarbeiter
A Soviet Premier on his death bed dreamed of a warm water port before he died and wanted to end support trickling in from that part of the world into "the stans" that have always stirred trouble since the birth of the Soviet Union.
Jimmy Carter signed the first executive orders to send aid and saw it as a way to spread freedom of religion into the Soviet republics.....
      well,
there ya go, it was part of his 'basic human rights' doctrine

    • @jundullah2516 I like how how you have the name of a US state dept sponsored "baloch seperatist" group that has done nothing but use acts of terror against civilians. Tell abduhl rigi malek do eat a dick when you get to "paradise". His ass got hung by the iranians. payback is a bitch.

    • @jundullah2516 at least sex isn't forbidden in our country like it is in islam (casual sex) and it doesn't involve farm animals. Bam.

    • @jundullah2516 and you're trying to tell me that there is help from god for those who wage this supposed "jihad" against the development of their country both socially and physically?

Give me a break, you know how many videos I've seen of "mujahideen" being killed when their IED's detonated prematurely? Would allah do that if he was behind them? People who support the taliban are so blind to the obvious truths.
