The Calhoun County Sheriff is coming under scrutiny for a video that shows him getting physical with a juvenile in custody.

In the video, Sheriff Amerson grabs the boy by his left shoulder, leans over and forces the boy's head back by pushing on his chin. It also shows the sheriff using both arms to pull the boy backward against the wall.

LaJuana Davis, a criminal law and procedure expert at Samford University's law school, watched the video and said the boy's rights had been violated.

Amerson said he could not legally discuss the video because it could become part of a juvenile case.
