I just dropped money on an nVidia Geforce GTX550 1GB, it hasn't even arrived yet and then a new card comes out. *facepalm*

@Flashovr You should have gone for the gtx480 imo.
If it hasn't even arrived you can still send it back(depending where you got it), just say it runs too hot or something.

my 3 480x's decided to stop working, I was so mad when I tested each card and found that they all managed to be dead. I dont know if i trust 3 way sli any more :/

i just had 2 outta 3 9800gtx+ cards die like 2 weeks ago! and thought it was unbelievable that 2 cards could die within moments of each other. i reckon those nvidia geeks snuk something into last update and BAM!!! ready for this release !!! wouldnt put it past em!

I went for the best of the best last time I rebuilt - GTX 580 3GB.
It's sweeet...
I'm running BF3 on ultimate at 60FPS. Will do me for some time to come.

@FundtheMental1 I loved the 8800..my mistake was having two 8800gtx's in SLI - damned thing had a dual role as a cooker even with 6 120mm fans circulating the air. Eventually they both killed themselves which gave me the excuse to go for a 5970 - couldn't be happier.

I bought EVGA tho, and they have a 90 day step-up plan.
Scary, because I would never pay $500 plus for a video card, but if the upgrade price is $300(plus the $225 I already paid), then somehow I can rationalize it! Ahhhhh!

Still using my HD3870 X2 plays games with no problems, quite a few years old too.
In my opinion ATI/AMD offer more bang for your buck.
