Grand Palace Hotel Implosion New Orleans July 22, 2012 
Something from my neck of woods.
Happened today, Sunday, 07/22/12 at 8am.
An old hotel, the Grand Palace hotel, was imploded.
Interstate 10 is still closed until all inspections are done and the green light is given to safely cross the interstate. This happened because the hotel was in close proximity to I-10.
This is not me on the video, I just grabbed it from youtube.

I don't mean to offend New Orleans residents but the city should have been abandoned after Katrina. It would have been the perfect time to do so. It's sinking into the Gulf of Mexico and it's only a matter of time before it gets too deep to save. Sadly, I see more Katrina type events in it's future.

huh funny I didnt hear any successive blasts like that on 9/11 in any of the hundreds of videos posted including a CNN news clip posted by an average video poster when 7 went down where you can hear ppl, vehicles etc.... Take note of the amount of work necessary for a controlled demolition. Many key structural locations were cut and sections were removed to produce this type of result of a bldg falling on its footing...
