A woman was assaulted and slashed in the face in a Bronx bodega.
The incident was caught on camera and now the NYPD is asking for help in locating the women believed to be behind the attack. They say Britney Sanders, 24, and two other females attacked the woman inside of the store at about 12:45 p.m. on March 22.
The 26-year-old victim was transported to Lincoln Hospital and reportedly needed 40 stitches and staples in the back of her head. Her name has not been released.
She claimed the attack stemmed from an incident the day before. The woman said that one of her attackers didn't like what she was wearing.
"She gave me a dirty look and said, ‘Wow, did you have to come outside dressed like that,’" the woman said.
Apparently, the woman spotted her the next day in the store on Willis Avenue in Mott Haven and decided to attack her.
The victim's hair was pulled, repeatedly punched and thrown to the ground so hard her shoe went flying. Then the sharp object was used to cut up her face. Police believe that Britney Sanders was the one who did the slashing.
The victim's four-year-old son was apparently outside of the bodega during the attack and no customers in the store came to the woman's aid during the attack.
Sanders is described as 5'4", 125 pounds, with black hair, brown eyes, and has a tattoo of eyes on her lower back.
