A man with a video camera, probably a tourist, is attacked and killed by lions as, what appears to be his horrified family, looks on helplessly.
It is hard to tell when this happened, but I recognized the two cars seen in this footage despite the jerky video frames. The one on the left is a Renault 4, and the one on the right is a Renault 6. These two French cars were very common in Europe, and also in Africa, in the 1960s, the 1970s, and the early 1980s. The other clue is the kind of camera the unlucky tourist was using. It's probably from the same period. Perhaps some camera specialists here can shed some light.
After the deadly attack, the lions seem to be fighting for his camera. Then one of them grabs it and walks away. The behavior of wild animals is sometimes strange and unexplicable.
No matter how unwise this man was, one can only feel sorry for him and his family.
