Leigh Bowery (1961-1994) was a performer, musician, fashion designer whose overt queer narcissism earned him the title of star of the underground scene in the 80's and 90's. In search of the "never seen before" look, he designed costumes that deformed and stretched different parts of his body, turning himself into a living objet d'art.
