  • all my credit cards have chips in, they're used for security and data, plus i can pay for things without even inserting my card into a machine contactlessly .... stop being paranoid

  • omg. the card has a paypass function. that means you can pay by holding the card next to a little machine that does... guess what: read rfid chip information. how the fuck would that shit work if the card had no such chip an antenna??

  • Newbs.... This is a "Paypass" card. It's used for driving through toll-ways without having to stop. Of course it's going to have one of them things in it.

  • It's for pay pass payments ...FFS get a life. Who cares anyway...you can be traced in any number of ways if needs be.

  • It's another way to run transactions without swiping that's more secure than the magnetic strip, and very hard to duplicate using old methods. Out here most debit/credit machines support the chip. No conspiracy here, sorry!

  • Ever wonder what "Paypass" is? Google it, Einstein. How the fuck else would a wave and pay credit card work? If this is your supporting evidence that 9/11 was an inside job, you're in bad shape.

  • Personally I'll use chip'n'pin contact syle cards but nearfield devices? No Way!

Not so much because of Government spying as from the really high risk of being hacked.

Electronic passports have the same risk. I have one without choice but I have a very good chance of being hacked by some Mossad team out to collect a few more passports for their assassins.

  • Wrap it in tinfoil! Take it out when you use it! Shoplifters get past the alarms by putting the goods in bags lined with aluminium, which blocks electromagnetic waves. All you need to do is block the waves, and the chip cannot be scanned.

  • /sigh.

With all of the real things you could be working on, you chose to devote your time to "exposing" RFID chips in PayPass cards, which are specifically marketed as having RFID chips so you don't have to swipe them? Really?

If it scares you that badly, shield it. Tinfoil hat wearers rejoice, it's actually good for something. Aluminum foil will actually block an RFID signal. So there ya go.
