Recently on the Rachel Maddow show, Pat Buchanan was on, and he and Maddow went mano-a-mano on the Sonia Sotomayor nomination, as well as the Frank Ricci case concerning reverse discrimination. Buchanan tries very hard, and does, make his point about reverse discrimination, but try as hard as he does, he's not convincing Maddow.
I always love to see Buchanan fired up, even though I don't see eye-to-eye with him on everything. He does stick to his guns when he feels he's in the right. And in the Ricci case, he is SO in the right and Rachel is wrong. She is just to lefty to admit it. Affirmative action is NEVER a good policy, and if folks who are proponents of it really look at what it says about people, they would probably change their minds about it.
It basically says "I realize I'm not as smart, but because of my skin color or gender, I should get promoted over the others."
How much more self-demeaning can you be if that's the way you feel? Talk about "keeping a brotha down!" That's one way of doing it.
