RAWALPINDI: Inter Service Public Relations has denied a TV channel report that a rocket was fired at the special plane of President Gen Pervez Musharraf on Friday morning while he was on his way to Turbat to review the flood situation there.
A private TV channel had reported that on Friday morning when President’s plane took off to take him to Turbat a rocket was fired from a house at Asghar Mall Chowk Rawalpindi.
Director General ISPR Maj. Gen Waheed Arshad told Online that the TV channel report is baseless and untrue we have reviews the situation and according to the evidence gathered the President’s plane was not fired upon nor it was hit by a rocket.
Spokesman said that President Musharraf is in Balochistan safe and sound and is reviewing the flood situation in Turbat as schedule.
Meanwhile taking belligerent action, Law Enforcement Agencies on Friday recovered two Anti aircraft Guns from a suspicious House in the area of Asghar Mall.
Continuing their good work, Law Enforcement Agencies cordoned a suspicious house in Rawalpindi, in the area of Asghar Mall.
On checking, they recovered two anti aircraft guns and one light machine gun from the House number 1026/A-0.
It has been told that the house belongs to Muhammad Ashraf and he had given the house for Sale to a Property Dealer.
On interrogations, it was found that one male, one woman and two children used to live in the House, however their names could not be identified till the filing of the report.
Besides one aircraft gun, 300 rounds of bullets, one light machine gun with 300 bullets while from the third anti aircraft gun 35 round was recovered.
While on the other hand, four cups and other breakfast material was recovered from the House. Thus, there are clear doubts that there were four culprits in the House
Police and Law Enforcement Agencies have sealed the entire area while commandos have also reached the gruesome site.
Bomb Disposal Squad was searching for any thing suspicious in the house.
Meanwhile CPO Marwat Ali Shah, DPO, Nazim and other high officials were also present.
LEA with the able support of Police has taken in custody Muhammad Ashraf and are interrogating from him.
People living in the area told that they had seen four culprits fleeing from the house in a motorcycle adding that they must be the attackers who managed to escape before the arrival of police in the area.
Police has taken two anti aircraft guns and one light machine gun in their possession. Further investigations are underway.
