Bluffton Baseball Player A.J. Ramthun speaks to reporters midday Friday about the horrific bus crash that he survived early Friday Morning.
A charter bus carrying his college baseball team from Bluffton University in Ohio plunged off a highway ramp in Atlanta early Friday and slammed into the southbound lanes of I-75 below.
Six people -- the driver, his wife, and four students -- were killed and 29 others on the bus were injured. Three of the survivors underwent surgery and were listed in critical condition at Grady Memorial Hospital.
Sports equipment was scattered across the road and debris from the bus was crumpled on the overpass above it. "There's a huge debris field. There is lots of debris in the roadway and, of course, the bus itself is on its side in the middle of the interstate," said DOT spokesman Mark McKinnon.
