Went fishing with the wife and kids yesterday at our favorite little lake..... about 20 miles from Yellowstone National Park. This is federally designated Grizzly recovery habitat that borders the second largest wilderness area in the lower 48 states, so human presence is fairly minimal.

I felt bad about scaring the bears off, as it wasn't our intention... but the fisherman on shore was heading for the kind of surprise encounter that maulings are made of. Surprising a female grizzly with cubs is about the quickest way to mess up your day I can think of.

Sorry for the shaky camera work... zoomed in all the way AND on a boat doesn't exactly make for steady-cam footage.
