  • No doubt for me it was win95 final release (i always had the 1.01 manual and 5 1/4 disk on my desk), because i tried to install that sh1t 50+ times (i made a .bat for auto install after 10+ tries), and only because i had that DX4-120@150 AMD processor !!!!(yep it was in the middle of the cold war AMD/Intel).
So after 2-3 days of auto install i heard that beautiful sound.

my fav win: 3.11 (network! man! network!) and 2k (first stable windows).

    • @goervideos I have to agree about the 2k being my favorite for the stability. It wasnt easy finding drivers but when I did she purred like a kitten.....did someone say cat?

    • @goervideos It's funny how much better our computer hardware is now. If you put the win95 .cab files on a usb stick windows 95 will install now in less than 35 seconds. jk I think i'll set up a vm tonight and give it a go.

    • @Pure_Adrenaline At some point i had 5 os (funny at multiboot)on my computer, with really strange hd partitions (each os had a different sort of), of course each on 1 different hd (vime/vmware wasn't good enought or invented).
      So that boot looked like:
      -win2k (or any decent windows)
      -openbsd
      -beos (i liked this one)
      -linux (usually suse or slackware)
-amigaos (or another exotic os in test)

My fav os was QNX Rtp, a jewel! and real-real time system...
Of course i stopped all this nerds-before-the More..

    • @goervideos I know what you mean about the 'funny boot". I never got away from multi-booting as iv'e found it the best way to get rid of viruses and it's just damn fun. I can choose which of 2 hd to boot from so technically I have 7 os's to choose from. 2x-win 7, 1x-Vista, 3x XP, 1x-win 3.1 or dos 6.22. I think I still have Ubunto installed but I lost it about a year ago. lol It's hard to keep up with 10 logical drives. I could have more usb drives but im afraid my laptop ps might burn up w More..

Yup, the integrated audio chip, always was a shitty sound ship, i think they were "REALTEK" or some other shitty low end sound card.

  • It's been a long ride. I hated Windows 95 and 98 for being unstable, though the instablity wasn't caused by Windows itself but rather poorly implemented 3rd party drivers that were insufficiently shielded from the kernel. Things started to come around with Windows NT an 2000 and it's been rock solid since XP. Windows 7 is a good system. Not sure yet what to make of 8.

  • Should have grouped the versions for single themes. Windows 7, less dramatic.

  • I liked it and out of respect(or something else) I had to watch the entire vid. However I think a couple versions were missing.(xp home edition, Windows 8 Developer Preview and im sure a couple other betas)
