Safe Mode: On
Sanicole Airshow 2012 Formation P 51 Mustang & Boeing 737 Jetairfly

There is no

need to present the well-known Belgian yearly Sanicole airshow. Over the

years this event becomes a must for the aviation fans. Since three years

now, this prestigious event is divided in two days with a dusk airshow held

the Friday evening. For the 36th edition the organizers did all

the best to have unusual presentations and they succeeded. On Friday evening

we were served with a cocktail of flares and other fireworks.

Sadly this evening the Breitling Jet Team had to stop their demontration

because of an heavy rain shower, but they were able to make a majestic pass

in formation with the Rafale solo display at the start of the display. A

great moment of this evening!

The Sunday airshow was also the place to see some amazing aircraft like a B-52 from the

USAF and the Swedish flying collection including a Saab 105, a J-29 “Tunan”

and a Saab J-37 “Viggen”. Also the Belgian Air Force was coming in full

force with all the 2012 displays. Other amazing demonstrations were held by

the Belgian parachute team “Hayabusa” and the Canadian “Skyhawks” who did

real astonishing figures. Last but not least the formation flight between a

TF-51D “Mustang” and a Boeing B-737-700. The past and the present together!

  • I don't really want to piss in your cornflakes, but a 737 doing patterns and a 51c briefly in view makes this airshow a normal day at any commercial airport.

  • I don't know why, but I want to see the Mustang try to down the 737. Maybe it's just from playing flight sim games as a kid, but that slow turn from the 737 made me want to drop 9 yards of .50 holes in it.
