MINNEAPOLIS - Minneapolis police arrested a woman early Thursday morning for cutting off the tail of her daughter’s dog.

The attack happened in a home the city’s north side around 2 a.m. Thursday morning. Officers were called to an address on Penn Avenue North for a domestic dispute. When they arrived, they found two women arguing and an injured poodle.

The older woman reportedly had cut off the tail of her daughter's poodle after she had gone into the basement where the dog was sleeping to get a pillow.

Brenda Pearl Jordan, 57, was arrested and booked on an animal cruelty charge. She was released.

The dog was taken to local emergency vet hospital. There is no word on the dog's condition.
