In lieu of the recent posts of the Running of the Bulls, Korean market slaughters, Chinese fur skinning and the other animal cruelty videos, I felt compelled to post a video from one of my most favorite groups, Propagandhi. While I prefer their older sound better, these fine Canadians from Winnipeg kick some serious ass. Anyway, I'm sure they'd have to grow on you, especially this later release of theirs but don't click away when the sound plays if you don't like the music. At least just watch the clip if anything and keep in mind the suffering that goes on everyday. I'm not here to tell you not to eat meat or not to consume dairy, this is just to raise awareness of what goes on and I hope that you make an effort to be conscientious when buying goods. We can bitch about what goes on in other countries and how they treat animals but this shit happens just about everywhere on the globe. As this clip gets buried deeper and deeper each day, I hope it at least reminds some of us to make a conscientious choice when buying things. Remember that one dollar equals one vote.
Please, no liberal BS statements. It's not wrong or evil to be compassionate especially for those that can't speak or protest the suffering they endure.
lyrics if you care to follow along:
Sleeping masters roused to burning homes from beds.
Steeping toddlers plucked from their watery deaths:
Ribbons, plaques and soft-soap are the ephemeral rewards
Paid to the slaves whose selfless acts accord a higher value to their masters,
these parting gifts (bolt pistols) console the rest. I await the remainder.
And too bad the tributes paid to lives that relegate these thrones
to lives spent valuing the runners-up, are known
to be neither fleeting nor desirable.
But nothing surprises me these days.
I just sit and watch the box-cars
Roll by and wait.
So Patient! So Unattended!
A package under a terminal bench and
A short fuse to scatter steady hands if I forget to remember,
That better lives have been lived in
The margins and locked in the prisons
And lost on the gallows than have ever been enshrined in palaces.
Thank you for watching
