On Oct 7 at about 4PM, the third march of the day left Freedom Plaza, stopping at Occupy DC to combine forces for a joint march on the IMF, the World Bank, and K st again. I don't know which group, if either organized the march but particiapnts from both were joined together.
After leaving McPheson Square and marching to the World Bank, everyone passed the World Bank building without incident, but stopped under the overhang of the IMF building and advanced almost to contact range with the hurredly assembled police/bike cop line guarding the door.
No doubt the cops were worried that the IMF was about to get stormed like what happened to General Atomics, manufacturer of the Predator killing drone. The IMF didn't get stormed, but marchers held a speakout right there at the besieged door, calling out the International Monetary Fund as a different kind of predator. Nobody was arrested, and marchers eventually moved off for another run on K st.
This time, marchers managed to take the k st service road and a running confrontation with the cops developed over the first traffic lane of the main road, forcing the cops to close it anyway.
The march worked it's way back to McPherson Square, where a small contingent, myself included, broke away for a protest at the American Petroleum Institute's DC office against their business relationship with animal testing lab Huntingdon Life Sciences. The portion of the main march that came from Freedom Plaza no doubt continued to march back to their origin point, while the Occupy DC marchers were back home at McPherson Square.
