Extraordinary footage shows how a group of thieves wielding assault rifles held up an armoured car in broad daylight in the French city of Marseille.
French police are investigating how a group of thieves weilding assault rifles held up an armoured car in broad daylight and got away with more than a million euros in cash.
Adding to the embarrassment of the authorities was the fact that the pictures were filmed as the incident took place on Monday in Marseille and ran prominently on news bulletins.
The pictures show the masked robbers with military-type rifles and assault weapons calmly robbing the truck of its contents.
French media said the thieves had got into the armoured truck by blowing open its rear doors with explosives before carting off the cash.
A passing police car which arrived at the scene towards the end of the robbery was fired on repeatedly with automatic weapons before the criminals fled.

Two burnt-out cars that were used in the robbery of an armoured vehicle in Marseille on Monday have been found. The robbers stole 2.1 million euros from the Loomis cash transit van, which was carrying between six and seven million euros.
On Monday morning, a group of ten heavily-armed robbers used stolen vehicles to block the van before blowing open the back and making off with the money.

EU made big ass mistake wjen letting countries like Romania and Bulgaria to EU. They are not western democracies not in eny measure.
Id like to comment about Greece and its policy of not paying taxes and people given 1 months pay. Not western standard also. There should be EU1 and EU2.

totally agree with you regarding EU1 and EU2
except for england, they will not bring anything positive to the EU
no matter what, they will always follow and agree with the USA,
they are still dreaming of the day the US would join the commonwealth (which will never happen)

The fire creates an extreme distraction. One is tempted to look at the fire and smoke instead of looking at the robbery going on.
IMHO this is a job done by the Marseilles mafia. I would compare Marseille to Chicago, as far as organized crime goes.
